‘Around the Aga’
The lower ground floor of this impressive family house in South West London, needed updating.
Working alongside award winning architect, Simon Gill and his team (simongillarchitects.co.uk) a thorough briefing process was undertaken. Understanding how the clients utilised the existing space, and identifying areas where improvements could be made, were key. In this case, an extension was not necessary, just careful adjustments to the existing spaces.
In the original kitchen, the existing Aga dominated and the Client was keen to keep it, it was fully restored and refurbished and is at the heart of the home once again. The new kitchen is light, bright and beautifully contemporary. Every space has a purpose, with storage maximised. A small study area was created, perfect for homework. The beautiful garden is visible, allowing light to flood in.
This lower ground floor update has created a wonderfully practical space, with excellent design at its heart.
The Client said: “Our kitchen is a triumph. Every inch has been scrupulously planned to optimise function and flow, and the interiors scheme has delivered light and harmony to our lower ground floor space. Nichola and Joanna’s careful and patient scrutiny of every project requirement has produced a truly outstanding result.”
